Blog Update #2
We’ve gone multi-platform baby!
Hey all! I just wanted to let ya’ll know about a few things I’m doing to try and make this Critical Country brand take off a little more!
Firstly, and most obviously; a new logo! I’ve been wanting one since the beginning but never thought I could make anything decent, nor did I have the money to pay for a design. Adobe’s free logo maker came to the rescue and made this super easy to design. It’s simple, and on brand! Thanks to If Ever You’re Listening for helping me choose, and just generally giving me some good advice!
The other thing I’ve got in progress, is a brand new Instagram account!

I’m still not 100% sure the specifics of what I want to do with it just yet — other than just promoting my blog. I’m going to take some time to try and learn a few photoshop skills to hopefully make the posts there interesting. I may end up posting a lot of smaller opinions on country I have, that don’t warrant a whole article written about them, along with keeping people up to date with the stuff I’m listening to.
The biggest reason I started it is because I found that I had no real way to communicate with anyone outside of Medium in a professional way. Hopefully this account will open up some opportunities for more networking, and maybe even some interviews sometime down the road.
I’m very excited for what’s to come with this page, and I genuinely have no planned direction. I want to talk about my favorite music and let that take me wherever it’s willing to scatter me. I’ve already grown an audience bigger than I came into this expecting, so whatever happens from here is just a bonus. The biggest goal as of now is getting to 100 followers.
David Acaster, Terry Barr, If Ever You’re Listening, Krystal Mossbarger, Bonnie Barton, Pierce McIntyre, Kevin Alexander, Steven Hale, and many more have made me feel welcome, and confident that what I’m doing is worth the work. I sincerely thank you all for that.
The future is bright, and I hope all the people who have enjoyed it thus far will stick around to see what happens in 2022 and beyond.
As a reward for anyone who read this — here’s a fun Elvis performance.
