Blog Update #6
Some small things to talk about!
Hello, everyone!
I just wanted to make a little blog update here because there are a few things I’d like to talk about, but don’t want to put them in an article.
The first thing I want to talk about, is a new series I’m going to be working on. I know it seems like I say that every other article but I really like this one!
I’m going to be doing a write up for every single member of the Grand Ole Opry! This series is just going to be a fun dive into the history of country’s greatest show.
I’m not going to be going in order, but I will be starting with the first ever member; DeFord Bailey, and then do another every week or two. Expect that to be out sometime next week. I’m not sure yet if I’m going to be self-publishing it, or putting it somewhere like The Riff (what do you think Kevin Alexander?).
I’m very excited about this, because it’s going to be fully for me, and anyone who enjoys the ride with me is just a bonus! I’m always looking to expand my knowledge on country music, and this is going to be a great way to do just that!
The second thing I wanted to mention was this article I wrote back in January:
Well… it seems as though it was a success!
I don’t think my article had anything to do with Whitley making the Hall Of Fame, but isn’t that a fun thought?
It’s super cool that just months after that was posted, he was announced as an inductee. I like to think that at least one or two people on the committee read my article (probably not, but let me have my moment).
I was extremely happy to see Whitley finally get this recognition though. It was also reassuring to know that my article wasn’t just me talking out of my ass, and other people believed as strongly as I did, that he should be in the HoF too.
Bit of a side note here; that article is one of my favorites I’ve ever written.
That’s pretty much it, just a couple little things that didn’t warrant a whole story.
